Aeros Combat L 13 and Tenax 3

Combat L 13 for sale

This is a 2005 Combat.  I'm pretty sure this is the glider that Paris Williams flew to win the 2006 Flytec championship at Questair in 2006.  You can see the sponsors' logos on the glider.

I have not flown this glider.  I bought it last year.  It had been in storage for several years.  I think it was leftover inventory from a previous Aeros dealer.

The glider is in great shape.  There is a slight yellowing on the leading edges, and a few superficial stains. Sail still a bit crispy.  It has the thicker carbon battens.

Comes with:

-2 extra carbon base tubes, one is like new
-extra set of carbon battens
- extra carbon winglets
- 4 spare downtubes
- extra nose cones
- 2 extra aft leading edges
- a complete extra airframe which was my old Combat L 13...sail is trashed

Selling glider, parts, and Texax 3 harness for $1400 or best offer.  Can work out delivery in Florida.

Tenax 3 - Woody Valley hang gliding harness.

NOTE:  The backplate on this harness appears to have a crack in a non critical area near the tail end.  It was like that when I got it new, and I thought it was a seam, knowing nothing about carbon backplates.  But I was told by a reputable person that is was a crack.  You can see it in the photo, it looks like a horizontal line.

Very nice harness in great condition. Made for 5'9" 165lb male, size 9 shoes, tight fit option.  Chute goes on the right side.  I can email the original order form showing all measurements in cm/kilos.

Fit - excellent/clean/streamlined, quality.  Weight - probably the lightest of the racing harnesses, lots of storage.  Zips up easily.

Modifications:  i covered the boot area with Plasti-dip, and when that started wearing thru I covered over that with black duct tape; riveted a small aluminum plate to the butt lever to line it up just right with my push point...easily removed.

As mentioned, this is the butt lever version, and it works great.  Harness has many different adjustments to make it very snug or a little loose.  Probably could adjust 1.5 inches either way to fit height.

Cost over $2k when purchase in 2011.

Wheels for Round Basetube
  • Hubs stay on basetube
  • For glider set-up, the halves join together with screws you turn with fingers...no tools.
  • Wheels turn freely on hub after attachment

I had these on my Discus but no longer use them. They are great insurance for whacks or for rolling in if your primary landing gear is damaged.

You'll notice that one of the wheel halves is missing an alignment pin. This has never been an issue for me. The halves still line up perfectly. In fact, it's the screws that hold the halves together, not the pins.

LMFP sells thes for $99. I'll sell these for $50.
